  11.
  12. Can somebody please help me figure out what is wrong with my
  13. Windows95/modem-settings:
  14.
  15. When I transfer files (zip) from my internet-account to my harddisk, I
  16. get the following download rates:
  17.
  18. In Windows95 with ws_ftp32, max 1KB/s!
  19. With dos and telix: 3KB/s (Normal transfer-rate).
  20.
  21. This is when I transfer exactly the same file from the same location.
  22.
  23. I have a Pentium100, 16550AN or something uart, Dynalink1428VQE-modem,
  24. Logitech mouse, Diamond stealth 64 DRAM (S3) graphicscard, conner
  25. 820hd. 8MBram.
  26.
  27. I've tried to use the standard video-driver instead of the s3 as
  28. suggested by navas', curt's and other modem faq's, without any
  29. improvement in performance.
  30.
  31. I use the recommended modem settings, tcpip settings, server settings
  32. and so on..
  33.
  34. I've tried serveral modem drivers, Standard, Standard28.800,
  35. Dynalink1428VQE, and Infotel1428VQE.
  36.
  37. In the ppplog.txt file I get a lot of CRC-errors. These probably cause
  38. the lost transferspeed. How can I get rid of them?
  39.
  40. Here is a listing of modemlog.txt and ppplog.txt:
